This policy describes how Samninety, LLC ("Samninety," "we," "us") handles information for the Shear severe-weather alerting service ("Shear"). We collect only what we need to operate the service for the agencies and organizations that use it.
Information we collect
- Account information — names and email addresses of the administrators and users your organization adds.
- Recipient directory — the contact emails and phone numbers your organization enters so it can be notified.
- Usage data — sign-ins, configuration changes, and alert-delivery records, kept for security, support, and reliability.
- Demo requests — the details you submit through our contact form.
How we use it
To deliver weather alerts you've configured, operate and secure the service, provide support, and communicate about your account. We do not sell personal information.
Text messaging
Where an organization uses text-message alerts, recipients opt in before any message is sent, and can reply STOP to opt out at any time. We do not sell or share mobile opt-in information or phone numbers with third parties for their own marketing. See SMS Alerts & Opt-In for how consent is collected.
Weather data
Alerts are derived from public U.S. National Weather Service products. That source data is public; the routing and delivery configuration you create is yours.
Security & retention
We use encryption in transit, encrypt sensitive secrets at rest, enforce two-factor authentication for administrators, and keep a tamper-evident audit trail. We retain data for as long as your account is active and as needed to meet legal and operational obligations.
